Google Gemini Live Update Features

Tech News 3 hours ago 284 Views

Google has released the latest update for its AI assistant Gemini Live, adding the ability to use information from users' past chats and Connected Apps. This change allows Gemini Live to provide more personalized and useful responses by remembering information from previous conversations. Introduced at the Google I/O 2026 event, the new Gemini experience also offers quick switching between voice and text conversations. Additionally, Gemini Live has enhanced integration with Connected Apps such as YouTube, Google Workspace, Utilities, and Image Generation. However, direct integration with Google Messages is still not available.

According to Google, the same privacy and permission settings applied to the standard Gemini Chat are enforced when using Gemini Live, and only memory information approved by the user is utilized. Currently, this feature is available to English-speaking users in the United States. Google further explains that Gemini can securely remember important user details, such as dietary habits, family special dates, or entertainment preferences, enabling it to provide more relevant responses in future conversations without repeatedly asking for the same information. However, the Personal Intelligence Settings page on Android devices still shows "Memory for Live - Coming Soon," indicating that it may take some more time before this feature is available to all users.
