Google Disco Reinvents Browser Tabs
Google Labs has started testing a new platform called “Disco” as its latest experiment. The main goal of this platform is to reimagine the browsing experience in a way that better fits the modern web. The first feature introduced in Disco is called GenTabs. With this feature, the tabs currently open in your browser (such as articles, documents, videos, and product pages) are collected and “remixed” using the Gemini 3 model to create a personalized page that feels like a custom app built specifically for you.

For example, if you have several tabs open related to your next trip, GenTabs can automatically create an interactive mini tool that presents everything about your upcoming tour in one place. This works inside Chrome and feels like a mini app designed specifically for your travel planning. With a single click, you can use it to organize your trip in a more interactive and efficient way. Instead of traditional tab-based browsing, this concept acts as a tool where important points, links, summaries, and actions are all available in one centralized space.

The main advantages of this approach include:
• Getting a custom workspace or app for a single task without getting “lost” among dozens of tabs.
• Saving time during activities such as research, learning, shopping, and planning.
• Receiving automatic structure and smart suggestions through a model like Gemini 3.

Disco is currently a Google Labs experiment and can be described as a feature being tested primarily for:
• Developers
• Researchers
• Students
• Power users
who are considered more advanced users.
According to tech analysts, features like Disco and GenTabs have the potential to completely transform the future of the Chrome browser experience, how web apps are built, and how AI and browsing are combined together.
